Debra L. Ferwerda was born and raised in Tampa, Florida.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Communications from Florida State
University in 1991. Debra attended St. Thomas University of Law in Miami, where
she served as Articles Editor on the Law Review and later graduated with a Juris
Doctor Degree with Honors in 1996. After graduation, she joined the Orange County
State Attorney's Office. In her three years as a prosecutor, Debra has handled
more than 2,500 Traffic, Juvenile Delinquency and Felony cases and participated
in over 60 trials.
